Upon graduating in his Master in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix, he was able to get a 3.75 GPA on all the coursework for the graduate program such as the Management, Human Capital Management, Business Law, Organizational Leadership, and Quantitative Reasoning for business, Economics, Applied Business Research for Business, Operations Management, Corporate Finance, Marketing, Accounting and Strategic Planning and Implementation.
Armin’s mastering of these topics provided the framework to excel both personally and professionally. The program proved very challenging and demanding; however, those that earn an MBA learn the fundamentals of end-2-end business operations. Because of this, Armin possesses the skillset/acumen to achieve top performance results in a variety of functional roles. The MBA equips the graduate with the functional knowledge to understand several cross-functional aspects affecting large and complex business operations.
One of the proofs that Armin Cruz’s education made him very competent is when he was working as the Team Leader/Senior Mortgage Loan Officer, he developed an innovative way to drive performance across the team, ultimately leading to the team’s success and profitability. Armin created a voluntary mentorship program, meeting bi-weekly. The topics, initially, focused on sales performance. They ranged from overcoming objections, to closing the deal as well as follow up routines. Armin engineered boiler plate designs that can be customized to each loan scenario and customer to reduce time and increase productivity. The result was an increase in the team’s sales performance, and reduction of non-performers (defined as bottom 25%). Eliminating the bottom 25% of performers, by promoting their knowledge and skillset catapulted the team to top rankings in the division in less than 60 days.
